How A DECORATED HOME began…….

Most of my childhood we lived on a farm, in a traditional style brick home that my dad built.  He built our home when not working his Monday thru Friday regular job.  My dad always loved to build things, which came in very handy on the farm.  My mom chose the house plan and actually helped very much during the construction process. The construction process was a family effort…I have two brothers and we were the helpers.

It was in that home that most of my childhood years were spent.  It was not uncommon to leave for school in the morning with the house styled one way, and return home to a completely different look.  My mom had a tremendous impact on my love for interior decorating.  At one point, she and my dad took an upholstery class together and transformed a boring beige sofa into an elegant blue velvet masterpiece–I will never forget that sofa!  My real fascination was watching and learning how my mom created beautiful flower arrangements!  I remember seeing her transform ordinary vases into luxury floral designs and then switching the flowers for the different seasons. 

I guess you could say that designing and creating are in my blood.  Both of my parents were always making improvements to our house and creating– A DECORATED HOME.
